Explore 19th century-style furnished rooms and exhibition halls with permanent collections at the Balzac Museum. There are 2300 pieces in the collections: furniture, antique books, manuscripts (including three corrected proofs of The Lily of the Valley), sculptures (including several originals by Auguste Rodin), paintings, engravings, drawings and photographs.
The 2ha grounds around the château provide an idyllic place to stroll and enjoy views of Saché village, the Indre Valley and the "tranquil and solitary valley" brought to life in The Lily of the Valley.
From December 2 to 6, 2024, due to works on Rue du Château, access to the museum parking lot is via a detour. Bus parking is recommended in the parking lot of the town hall gîte, rue du Moulin rouge. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
