BY CAR

Take the A85 from Tours, exit junction 9 Chinon onto the D751 then either:

  •  via Azay-Le-Rideau: follow signs to Azay-Le-Rideau then to Saché on the D17
  • via Pont-de-Ruan: follow signs to Saché on the D121, then the D8 and D17
  • follow signs to Azay-Le-Rideau, then to Saché on the (not recommended for coaches as the road over the Indre is too narrow).

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

BUS – From Tours, the Rémi network operates a regular intercity bus service to Saché. However, it is necessary to stay overnight in Saché in order to return to Tours the following day. >> View the bus timetable (Line I, Rémi)

TRAIN – The nearest railway stations to Saché are Azay-le-Rideau (9 km), Villeperdue (10 km), and Monts (11 km). It is possible to travel with a bicycle on board the train or to book a taxi in advance from the station to reach Saché. >> Visite the Pagesjaunes website to book a taxi.

 

BY BICYCLE

The Balzac Museum is located along the Cyclo Bohème, a 310 km cycling route following the Indre River.

As a holder of the Accueil Vélo (“Cyclists Welcome”) label, the museum provides facilities adapted to cyclists, including a secure bicycle shelter and a repair kit.

Green Ticket: At the ticket office, a reduced rate is available to anyone arriving by bike, upon presentation of a photo of the bike parked outside the museum.
